MISSION

For decades, our mission has been to educate the public about the history of the struggle for reproductive freedom and privacy rights as well as about current issues and the future of these laws.

The organization’s work stems from Bill Baird’s achievements on behalf of the public’s right to privacy especially with regard to his three U.S. Supreme Court victories.  Eisenstadt v. Baird(3/22/72) legalized birth control nationally for all individuals in the U.S. and was quoted six times in the 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion case.  Baird v. Bellotti I (1976) and Baird v. Bellotti II (1979) gave minors the right to abortion without parental veto.

Our vision is embodied in a phrase Bill Baird initiated in 1964:  "To be wanted and loved is every child's birthright." 

We join other progressive voices whose goal it is to protect and procure the rights to birth control and abortion.

The Pro Choice League, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable organization.  It was founded by our co-director Bill Baird.  Together, he and wife Joni Baird co-direct the Pro Choice League.
